BusRadio Art Show Contest Entry Guide
Art Photo Guidelines
The photos of artwork must:
- NOT contain any personally identifiable information (your name, address, actual image of yourself, etc)
- NOT contain inappropriate content
- Be an original piece of artwork
Artwork can be any of the following:
1.Painting: oil paints, watercolor, encaustic (wax), acrylic, dry and oil pastel, mixed media, collage
2.Artisan Crafts: jewelry (beads, glass, stone, plastics, metal, silver and goldsmithing), china painting, weaving, stained glass, turned wood, quilting, paper crafts, basketry, mosaics, fired clay, organic materials such as gourds, wearable art
3.Drawing: dry and oil pastel, conté crayon, charcoal, colored wax pencil, ink, designer markers, graphite or carbon pencil
4.Photography & Prints: digital, film, digitally enhanced or manipulated images, giclée (prints from ink jet printers), monotype, woodcut, etching, lithograph
5.Three-Dimensional: sculpture (wood, metal, glass, light, stone, plexiglas, organic materials), ceramics (coiled or wheel-thrown, glazed, fired clay), assemblage
Judging and Winning
Ten (10) Individual semi-finalists will be selected in each category:
Elementary: K-5
Middle School: 6-8
High School: 9-12
In order to pick the semi-finalists, artwork will be judged on:
Creativity (34%)
Originality (33%)
Content (33%)
The artwork of each semi-finalist will then be uploaded to the website for a public vote to determine the winners. Winning students and the schools in which they attend will be detemined by the number of votes.
Grand Prize: The highest number of votes
First Prize: The second highest number of votes
Second Prize: The third highest number of votes
Prizes
A total of three prizes will be awarded
The Grand, First and Second Prize winning student will each receive $300 in Blick Art Materials.
In addition, the school in which each winning student attends will win:
Grand Prize: $2,600 in Blick Art Materials as well as a BusRadio sponsored art show with all proceeds going to the schools art department.
Second Prize: $1,000 in Blick Art Materials
Third Prize: $500 in Blick Art Materials
Submission Guidelines
Parental/guardian consent forms must be received before any artwork can be posted on BusRadio.com

Deadline
Submit your artwork and consent forms between March 19 and April 11, 2008, 11:59 PM EST.
Semi-finalists will be announced April 29, 2008.
The winners will be announced May 14, 2008.
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Contest ends April 11, 2008. Open to legal residents of the 50 US and DC who are between the ages of 5-18 at the time of entry. Entrants must attend a school that is an elementary, middle or high school, grades K-12 (public or not-for-profit private). Subject to full official rules available at www.busradio.com.
